I Peter 4:12 Tells us to think it not strange when we encounter fiery trials; not to be surprised at suffering. Jesus said in John 16:33 says in this world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, He has overcome the world. Just as Jesus overcomes the world, suffering, and sin; so shall believers in Him be able to. We will stand spiritually no matter the circumstances. Though we may have many problems/issues' our deepest sense of well-being and spiritual security will NEVER be threatened.
Our emotions in response to our suffering may run the gamut, just as Job's did. However, our abiding faith will glorify God and be remembered by those who watch us (as believers) overcome.
Let us remember to continue to praise God, being faithful and thankful that we are His even in the midst of our suffering - whether we be imprisoned as a result of our own poor choices or through our sometimes rebellious natures or sin, or through no fault of our own. God is faithful to deliver us. As you read through Psalm 107 pay particular attention to the following verses in Psalm 107 that stress that as we cry out to the Lord in our trouble - He saves us out of our distresses. Psalm 107: 6, 13, 19, 28. Let us not allow that to be the reason to purposely do wrong knowing He will deliver us.
